At least four people were killed and over 50 others injured in a clash between police and local people at a demonstration programme of general Muslims at Eidgah ground in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola on Sunday.
Three of the deceased were identified as Mahfuz Patwari, Shaheen and Mahbub Patwari.
They staged the demonstration programme demanding punishment of a youth named Biplab Chandra Shuvo for reportedly making derogatory remarks about Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM) and sharing that with his Facebook friends.
Talking to local journalists, Sarkar Mohammad Kawsar, Superintendent of Bhola Police, said three people were killed in the clash. A policeman also suffered bullet wounds during the fight, he added.
Locals and police sources said, a message vilifying Allah and Mohammad (SM) was sent to several Facebook friends through messenger from Biplab Chandra’s Facebook ID.
