A total of 981,967 people died from coronavirus worldwide at 11:15am till Thursday (05:15 GMT), according to latest data from worldometer.
While 32,097,341 people have contacted with coronavirus, 23,680,153 are considered recovered in the 213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December.
Apart from this, the number of active cases are 7,435,221.
With the fresh tally in the 24-hour, 6,495 people died from coronavirus while 313,383 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and 279,248 patients have made fully recovery.
The US has reported 206,593 coronavirus deaths with 1,122 new fatalities and India reported 91,173 daeths with 1,152 new fatalities in the 24-hour.
Among other coronavirus affected countries, Brazil reported 139,065 deaths, followed by Mexico with 74,949; UK 41,862, Italy 35,758; France 31,459; Iran 24,840; Russia 19,799; Indonesia 9,977; Canada 9,243; Iraq 8,754; Pakistan 6,437; Bangladesh 5,044; Saudi Arabia 4,569; Australia 861 and UAE 406 respectively, worldometer reported.
