Coronavirus: Global death toll climbs to 998,747

A total of 998,747 people died from coronavirus worldwide  at 11:40am till Sunday (05:40 GMT), according to latest data from worldometer.

While 33,058,718 people have tested positive for coronavirus, 24,411,772 are considered recovered in the 213 countries and territories since the virus emerged in China last December.

Apart from this, the number of active cases are 7,648,199.

With the fresh tally in the 48-hour, 11,005 people died from coronavirus while 642,313 people have tested positive for COVID-19, and 479,560 patients have made fully recovery.

Among the coronavirus affected countries, US has reported 209,177 coronavirus deaths, followed by Brazil with 141,441; India 94,534; Mexico 76,243; UK 41,971, Italy 35,818; France 31,700; Russia 20,225; Indonesia 10,308; Bangladesh 5,129 and  Saudi Arabia 4,655 respectively, worldometer reported.
