Covid-19: 30 more die, 1,499 infected in 24 hours

Thirty more people have died of coronavirus or Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 5,405 people died of the fatal disease in Bangladesh so far.

At the same time, 1, 499 people have been infected with Covid-19. Till now, some 3,71,631 people infected with coronavirus in the country.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed this information in a press release on Tuesday.

 

The current corona infection rate is 12.14 percent.

According to worldometer.info, Bangladesh is at the moment 16th in the list of worst affected countries in the world in terms of the number of cases. The position is one step behind Iraq and one step ahead of Kingdom Saudi Arabia (KSA).

In the last 24 hours, a total of 12,345 samples were tested in the country.

Meanwhile, country saw 1,651 Covid-19 recovery cases in the same period (last 24 hours).

So far, the total number of recovery case is 2,84,833 while the recovery rate is 76.64 percent.

Among the 30 deaths in 24 hours, 20 were male and 10 female, while one was between 11-20 years old, one within 21-30, two between within 31-40, two within 41-50, seven between 51-60 and 17 were above 60 years old, the press release added.
