The police arrested three people at Godagari upazila in Rajshahi on Saturday night on charge of raping a woman.

The arrested were identified as Md Shukur, 40, son of Haji Moksed of village Bindarampur under Damkura police station in Rajshahi, Rony, 30, son of Saiful Islam of village Dhamila of Godagari upazila, and Babu, 45, son of late Abu Zakir.

Godagari model police station officer-in-charge Khairul Islam told New Age that the victim filed a case with the Godagari model police station against the three on Saturday night.

According to the case statement the victim was raped by the accused after she went to Godagari from Rajshahi on Saturday night for some money that she gave to one of the accused as loan.

The police sent the arrested to jail after producing them before a court on Sunday, the OC said, adding that the woman was sent to One Stop Crisis Centre of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
