Bangladeshi expatriates in Malaysia who got stranded in the country due to Covid-19 pandemic staged protests by blocking roads in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Monday demanding visa extension.
The expatriate Bangladeshis, during the protest, also placed some demands, including extension of visas in consultation with the Malaysian government and permission for entry to Malaysia in a simple and normal way, arrangement for chartered flights by maintaining health guidelines.
They also demanded Tk 5 lakh financial assistance to the family of any expatriate dies in the country during holiday and legal assistance to imprisoned expatriates staying in different countries.
Mentionable, many Bangladeshi workers who are employed in Malaysia came to the country on holiday and got stuck due to the corona pandemic.
