The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Manju Mia, son of Anju Mia, hailing from Pukutiakanda village in Purbadhala upazila and Sirajul Islam, son of Raful Islam, from Kalikha village in Phulpur upazila.

The speedy Netrokona-bound truck hit the Mymensingh-bound auto-rickshaw carrying the victims on Netrokona-Mymensingh highway at 6:00 am, leaving Sirajul, passenger of the rickshaw dead of the spot and its driver injured, said inspector Nayan Das, in-charge of Shyamganj Police Outpost. 

Later, locals took the injured to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) where duty doctor declared Manju dead.
