Minister stands by raped woman in Rajshahi

State Minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alam has taken responsibility of a child going to be born out of rape of a woman at Bagha upazila in Rajshahi.
Grocer Badsha Alam violated the woman on promise of marriage. After being conceived, the woman has become helpless as her lover refused to marry.
The minister has come forward to bear treatment cost of the woman till delivery and nurturing cost of her baby.
The woman underwent physical test on Friday evening. Bagha upazila Mohila Awami League president Fatema Masud Lata confirmed the matter to media.
The victim filed a case against the grocer on September 29. Police arrested the accused lover five days after filing of the case. The arrestee is in prison at present, Fatema added.
