Two youths were killed after a covered van hit their motorcycle in Bheramara upazila of Kushtia on Tuesday evening.

The deceased were identified as Parvez Moshrraf, 23, son of Mintu Mia and Ringku Hossain, 24, son of Zillur Rahman, both of them hailing from Ramkrishnopur Crorfordnagar village in Daulatpur upazila.

According to locals, the covered van hit the motorcycle on which the youths were riding to go Kushtia from behind at the area on Kushtia-Iswardi highway, leaving Ringku dead on the spot and Parvez injured.

Later, locals took the injured to Bheramara Upazila Health Complex. He was later rushed to the 250-bed Kushtia General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the night.

Confirming the news, Shah Jamal, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bheramara Police Station, said that the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsies.
