BNP MP Harunur Rashid on Monday filed an appeal with the High Court against the lower court verdict that earlier given him five years imprisonment in a graft case.
He also sought bail today (Monday), said the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan.
The hearing is scheduled to be held before the HC bench of Md Shawkat Hossain later on the day.
Earlier on October 21, a Dhaka court sentenced the BNP lawmaker to five years imprisonment in a tax-evasion case.
The anti-graft body filed the case with Tejgaon Police Station on March 17, 2007, against three people, including Harunur Rashid.
