A fire that broke out at North Bengal Jute Mill of Mithapukur in Rangpur on Tuesday was doused.
Confirming the news, Khurshid Alam, senior station officer of Rangpur Fire Service, said on information, eight fire fighting units from different fire stations including those of Rangpur, Mithapukur and Pirganj rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after 2 hour of frantic efforts.
But the causes of the fire could not be confirmed yet, he said.
Khurshid Alam also said no casualty was reported in the fire so far, adding that the fire might have originated from an electric short circuit.
The fire damaged various goods including sacks,cottons and jutes worth TK 1.30 crore.
