A Dhaka court set November 20 to pass order on whether to issue arrest warrant against three BNP leaders including Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in a case lodged for allegedly carrying out anarchy in the capital in 2018.
The three accused are BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan CHowdhury passed the order on Thursday.
According to the case documents, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College got killed as a speedy bus ran them over in front of their college on July 29, 2018. Students of different colleges and schools after that started agitation across the capital, which later spread across the country.
The plaintiff alleged that the accused BNP leaders directed their followers to politicize the student movement and carry out anarchies under the cover of the agitation.
AB Siddiqui on August 6, 2018, filed that case against the three BNP leaders.
