Police have arrested another person in a case filed over the recent clash between police and demonstrating locals in Borhanuddin upazila that claimed four lives and injured 200 others.

The arrestee was identified as Swapan, son of Zubayer Master and brother of Borhanudding upazila unit Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Ashraful Alam Sabuj.

Quoting Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Borhanuddin Police Station, UNB said police arrested Swapan from his village on Saturday after scrutinising the video footage of the incident.

With this, four people have so far been arrested in this connection, he said.

Four people were killed and more than 200 others injured on October 20 in the clash between police and demonstrating locals who were demanding punishment of a youth in Borhanuddin upazila for allegedly hurting religious sentiments on Facebook.

Police filed a case in this regard accusing 5,000 unknown people.
