Police recovered the hanging body of a female NGO worker from her office in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Iren Akter, daughter of Ali Hossain Fakir of Agailjhara upazila in Barisal district.

She was working as a field officer of Padakkhep Human Development Center of the upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC-Investigation) of Borhanuddin Police Station Bashir Alam said that NGO worker Iren went to sleep in a room on the second floor of the office at night.

In the morning, staff of the office did not get any response from the room despite several calls. They then found the hanging body of Iren after breaking opens the door, he said.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body, he added.

The body was sent to Bhola Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem.

An unnatural death case has been registered with Borhanuddin police station, said the OC.
