Tributes and condolences continue to pour in for Ekushey Padak -2015 winner, eminent actor ATM Shamsuzzaman, who passed away at the age of 80, at his residence at city’s Sutrapur area early Saturday morning.
Immediately after his demise, people from all walks of life as well as different political parties and leaders expressed their shock and sent condolences.
A number of cabinet members also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the National Film Award winner actor.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak, Law Minsiter Anisul Haque, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim, Health Minister Zahid Maleque, LGRD Minister Md Tajul Islam, Youth and Sports State Minister Md Zahid Ahsan Rusell, Cultural Affairs State Minister KM Khalid and Civil Aviation and Tourism State Minister Md Mahbub Ali also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of ATM Shamsuzzaman, in separate condolence messages.
The spokesperson and coordinator of the 14-party alliance Amir Hossain Amu, Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman and Deputy Leader of the Opposition in Parliament GM Quader, Deputy Leader of Parliament Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President Hasanul Haque Inu also expressed grief and prayed for the eternal peace of the soul of the deceased.
