Two workers went missing as a stone-laden trawler capsized in the Karnaphuli river in Chattorgram early Monday.
Chattogram Fire Service Deputy Director (Acting) Md Azizul Islam confirmed the matter to media.
The trawler carrying 700 tonnes of stone sank in the river after hitting a pillar of an under construction bridge at 3:00am in the area, he said.
Though around 27 people managed to swim ashore, two went missing.
On information, drivers from Agrabad fire service went to the spot and are conducting a rescue operation, he added.
