At least four people were killed and four others injured as a truck hit two CNG auto-rickshaws in Rangunia upazila of Chattogram on Thursday night.

The incident took place around 8:00pm on Chattogram-Kaptai road in Kalugotta area of Chandraghona-Kadamtali union in the upazila.

The deceased were identified as Daisy Dutt (35), Abul Kalam (7), Md. Akbar Hossain (25) and child Adrish Souma.

Rangunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mahabub Milki said the Chattogram-bound truck from Chandraghona rammed the CNG auto-rickshaws carrying the victims in the area, leaving eight passengers of the auto-rickshaws injured.

Later, the injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) in critical condition and the on-duty doctor declared four of them dead.

He added that the bodies were kept in the hospital morgue and the injured are being treated.
