Hefazat leader Azizul Haque Islamabadi on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court on Monday placed Azizul Haque Islamabadi, central organising secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, on a 7-day remand in a case filed over vandalism and arson attack in Motijheel in 2013.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Devdas Chandra Adhikari passed the order after police produced him before the court with a seven-day remand.

Earlier, he was arrested from Chattogram’s Hathazari .

 

Mahbub Alam, joint commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the matter.

Earlier, Hefazat leaders claimed that Azizul Haque Islamabadi went missing since he left for Chattogram after attending a meeting at Hathazari Madrasa.
