Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday predicted rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places.

Mild to moderate heat wave was sweeping over Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions and the regions of Sitakunda, Rangamati, Noakhali, Feni, Moulvibazar, Rajshahi and Pabna and it may abate.

Day temperature may fall by (1-3) °C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country, a met office release said today.

Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded by 39.8 degree Celsius at Jashore and today’s minimum temperature was recorded by 21.0 degree Celsius at Tarash.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded by 29 millimeters (mm) at Tangail.
