Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP has resorted to conspiracy to take revenge after failing in polls and movement.
“If BNP creates any violent situation in the name of movement, Awami League will give a befitting reply to them on streets,” he told a Covid-19 protective equipment distribution ceremony at Bangabandhu Avenue here.
Under the initiative of AL relief and social welfare sub-committee, protective equipment was distributed among representatives of the districts where ‘lockdown’ has been enforced.
Quader urged BNP to stand by the distressed people stopping their “lip service” sitting at home. “BNP only makes comments but in reality they don’t do anything for the people,” he said.
Questioning to BNP when their movement would be waged, he said one decade has passed but the people could not witness any movement of BNP.
“The people want to know when their movement would be waged. Those who boycott polls cannot believe in democracy,” he said.
The AL general secretary said BNP’s criticism against the government in every matter is as like as ‘saying something totally irrelevant to the present occasion” and the people do not believe such things anymore.
Terming BNP as blind, the minister said BNP cannot see any development and achievements of the government.
AL Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Education and Human Resource Secretary Shamsun Nahar Chapa, Central Working Committee Member Syed Abdul Awal Shamim and Dhaka City South AL Vice-President Nurul Amin Ruhul were present on the occasion, among others.
Quader handed over the Covid-19 protective equipment to representatives of respective districts.
