JU female teacher dies of dengue fever

Sayeda Nasreen Babli, an assistant professor of history department at Jagannath University (JU), died of dengue fever at a hospital in the capital on Wednesday morning.

The professor, 35, hailing from Sirajganj, breathed her last at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Square Hospital this morning.

Her husband, Deputy Attorney General Barrister ABM Abdullah Al Mahmoud Bashar, confirmed the matter. 

She was admitted to the hospital on June 20 after contracting dengue. She was taken to the ICU in the next day as her condition deteriorated.

Saida Nasrin passed SSC from Hamidia Pilot Girls High School in Sirajganj and HSC from Ullapara Science College. She was later got admitted in the history department of Dhaka University.

Babli, who received the President’s Gold Medal, became the first in the 32nd BCS examination. However, he joined the history department of Jagannath University as a teacher.
