The government will hold Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations by the second week of November and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations by the first week December on limited syllabus if the Covid-19 situation remains favourable.
Education minister Dr Dipu Moni made the announcement in a virtual briefing on Thursday morning.
“The examinations will be held with short syllabuses on three subjects,” she told journalists.
The minister said the evaluation of other subjects will be done through subject mapping based on the results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and SSC exams.
If the Covid-19 situation is not under control within this time, results of SSC, HSC will be prepared based on previous academic results of the students, she added.
Deputy minister for education Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel was also present in the virtual press conference.
