At least three people, including a child, were killed in a head-on collision between a covered van and a leguna at Takshal Intersection of Panchdona-Tongi regional road of Narsingdi on Friday noon.

The accident also left five people injured.

The deceased are identified as Alamin(10), son of Saiful Islam of Banglabazar Dewanganj of Sunamganj, Hafizul Islam, 46, of Bateshawr village of Belabo upazila of Narsingdi, and Chan Miah, 55, son of Mozaffar Hossain of Kaliganj of Gazipur.

It is learnt that a covered van was heading towards Tongi from Panchdona at noon. The head-on-collision took place at Takshal Intersection when  a leguna with passengers coming from opposite direction collided head-on with the covered van. The leguna was twisted on the accident spot and three people died on the spot and five others injured.

Confirming the accident, Panchdona Police Outpost Yusuf Miah said the covered van was seized. At the same time, the injured were taken to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital.
