A teacher of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) died of dengue on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Dr Azaharul Haque, 53, a teacher of Animal Breeding and Anthropology Department.
He breathed his last at the Square Hospital in the capital at 11:00pm.
The University Student Affairs Adviser Professor Dr AKM Zakir Hossain confirmed the news of his death.
On July 28, he was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) after infected with Covid-19 and dengue. About 75% of his lungs were damaged, he said.
Later the professor was shifted to Dhaka’s Square Hospital on July 29 after his condition deteriorated.
He was recently retired as Proctor of the University.
Earlier, a teacher of Jagannath University (JnU) died of dengue on July 7 (Wednesday).
