The national zoo in the capital is still closed although entertainment centres, park, and tourism spots of the country have been opened after relaxation of restrictions.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has informed that the national zoo will be opened this week.
He made the disclosure while responding to a question of a journalist at Secretariat in the capital on Tuesday noon.
SM Rezaul Karim said, “Opening of zoo is under process. I have already given instruction to the authorities so that visitors can enter zoo following health guidelines. Hope, the national zoo will be opened for the public in line with the health regulations.”
Mentionable, the government had been imposing restrictions in phases since April 5 due to rise of coronavirus or Covid-19 infections. Since then, the national zoo has been closed in order to avoid public gathering. Now preparation is on to reopen it for the public.
