RAB arrests JMB leader from hideout in city’s Bosila

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday claimed to have arrested a suspected militant during a drive at a hideout in Dhaka’s Bosila area on Thursday morning.

The arrestee, Emdadul Haque alias Uzzal Master, is allegedly one of the top leaders of banned militant group Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

Based on information given by the militants arrested in Mymensingh recently, a team of RAB cordoned off a building near Mohammadpur Bosila Bridge in the early hours, said ASP (media) of RAB Headquarters Imran Khan.

 

Within a few hours, around 8am, the RAB personnel arrested the militant from his hideout in the building after a raid, officials said.

RAB claimed to have recovered firearms, chemicals used to make bombs, bulletproof vest and Tk 3 lakh in cash from the hideout.

The elite force will hold a press briefing at its media centre in the afternoon.
