Bangladesh ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is all set to add another feather on his cap as he is just 42 runs away from AB de Villiers to become the fifth-highest run-getter in the ICC T20 World Cup.

The 34-year old southpaw has amassed 675 runs from 28 matches with a stunning average of 29.34. Former South Africa skipper AB de Villiers on the other hand has 717 runs in 30 matches at an average of 29.87.

With 42 runs behind from de Villiers, Shakib has a great chance of achieving another massive milestone with Bangladesh will play against Sri Lanka, West Indies, Australia, England and New Zealand in the super 12 stage.

There are already a number of records under his belt, Shakib and milestone has a very intriguing relationship over the years. The number one all-rounder achieved various landmarks in his 15-year long career.

The Bangladesh premier all-rounder on Thursday against PNG equalled Shahid Afridi’s record for the most number of wickets in T20 World Cups. His stellar all-rounder show helped Bangladesh to book the Super 12 spot.

He added another feather in his cap at the same match to become the only Bangladeshi player in cricket history to reach the 100 sixes milestone across all formats of cricket.

Just a few days back Shakib became the leading wicket-taker in T20 cricket, surpassing Sri Lanka pace legend Lasith Malinga’s record of 107 wickets.
