12kg gold seized at Dhaka airport

Customs officials recovered approximately 12 kilogrammes of gold bars, worth Tk 8.5 crore at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday morning.

The officials seized the smuggled gold from the cargo hole of Bangladesh Biman’s  flight of BG-4148, which flew in from Dubai.

Confirming the news, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) Director General Abdur Rouf said, “Necessary steps will be taken upon further investigation.”
