Tigress found dead in Sundarbans

A female Royal Bengal Tiger was found dead adjacent to the Sundarbans mangrove forest of Satkhira on Saturday evening.
Assistant Conservator MA Hasan of Sundarban’s West Zone’s Satkhira Range says that fishermen spotted the body of the large cat near the Rajakhali canal in Chunkuri under the Satkhira Range and reported to Forest department.
“The body of the tigress is being brought to the range office,” he said.
Hasan said they suspected that the tigress died due to old age, but samples from the deceased animal would be sent to the forensic lab in Dhaka to find out the exact cause of its death.
