A Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Wednesday that they would decide about the contract of their spin-bowling coach Rangana Herath in their next board meeting.
The BCB appointed Herath in June this year and he had a contract with the cricket board until the recently-concluded ICC T20 World Cup.
As the BCB couldn’t decide on his contract extension after the World Cup, the national team isn’t getting the service of the 43-year old former Sri Lankan spinner during their upcoming home series against Pakistan.
“He (Herath) is not available in the series (against Pakistan) and we will make a decision on him in the next board meeting,” BCB Cricket Operation Chairman Akram Khan told The Daily Sun.
“We won’t have any spin coach in this series and Mizanur Rahman (fielding coach) will help the players if required,” he added.
