Chandpur road crash leaves three dead

Three people were killed when a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Chandpur-Cumilla regional highway at Khazuria in Kachua upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as auto-rickshaw driver Sohel Mia, 36, Gokul Sarkar, 32, of Haziganj upazila and Ripon, 25.
The truck hit the CNG run auto-rickshaw around 10:30 pm, leaving two people dead on the spot and another injured, said Mohiuddin, officer-in-charge of Kachua Police Station.
Injured Ripon was taken to Cumilla Medical College and Hospital where he succumbed to his injures on Sunday morning.
Vehicular movement on the highway remained suspended for an hour following the incident.
On information, police recovered the bodies.
