Professor Md Shah Azam, a teacher of marketing department of Rajshahi University, has been appointed as the new vice-chancellor of Rabindra University, for the next four years.
A gazette notification, signed by Md Mahmudul Alam, deputy secretary of the ministry of education, was issued on December 7 in this regard saying that it will come into effect immediately.
The notification was issued following the order from the president.
Shah Azam became the second vice chancellor of the university.
The university established in 2017 in Sirajganj’s Shahzadpur upazila, and its first vice chancellor Professor Dr Bishwajit Roy’s tenure ended on June 14 this year.
