The High Court (HC) on Thursday granted eight-week anticipatory bail to four top BNP leaders, including its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a case filed over vandalising vehicles in front of the Supreme Court (SC).
The HC bench of Justice Jahangir Hossain Selim and Justice Md Riaz Uddin Khan came up with the order after the hearing of bail petitions filed by the BNP leaders.
The HC bench also ordered them to surrender before the lower court within eight weeks.
Confirming this to media, BNP chairperson’s press wing member Sairul Kabir Khan said, “BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Mirza Abbas and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy as well as law affairs secretary Barrister Kayser Kamal are among the four, who have got the anticipatory bail today.”
