Firearms trader arrested with pistols, ammo in Chattogram

The Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a firearms trader with four shooter guns and 23 bullets from Shikalbaha in Karnaphuli upazila on Saturday.
The arrestee was identified as Md Ali Akbar, 50, son of Nur Ahmed of Hatia Bayachar area in Noakhali district.
Mahmudul Hassan Mamun, Assistant Director of RAB-7 (Media), said they raided the area acting on a tip-off and arrested him when he was going to Noakhali from Banshkhali upazila early morning.
He used to sell firearms to pirates in Hatia area and was involved in firearms trading.
A case would be filed with Karnaphuli Police Station in this connection, the official added.
