Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has planned tougher movement in the days to come seeking the government’s permission to send party chief Khaleda Zia’s overseas treatment.
Standing Committee, the highest decision-making body of the party, took the decision at a meeting Monday night.
BNP will elaborate the programmes at a press conference today.
Khaleda Zia is suffering from liver cirrhosis and other serious diseases. She has remained hospitalised since long requiring foreign treatment.
Her younger brother applied to the government seeking permission to send her abroad.
Last week, the law ministry sent it’s opinion on the application to the home ministry and finally the file will go to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Meanwhile, home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told journalists that the application is not covered by the law.
