The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam Suman, 40, of Pirojpur district, used to live with his wife and three daughters in Tantibazar area and Kajol Akter, 35, was a worker at a restaurant.

She was living with her three children and mother in Khilgaon area. 

The covered van hit the motorcycle carrying the victims at 3:00am in the area, leaving the duo dead on the spot, said Jewel Miah, sub-inspector of Airport Police Station.

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said

Police are trying to identify the vehicle that hit them, he added.
