Police recovered the hanging body of a woman from a house in Hatirjheel area of the capital on early morning.

The deceased was identified as Beauty Akhter Minu (50), a member of the Film Artists Association, daughter of Abdul Mannan Khalifa of Kalupara village in Barisal’s Gaurnadi upazila.

Her body was recovered at 1.30am and sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after legal procedure, Md Harun-ar-Rashid, sub-inspector of Hatirjheel Police Station, said.

The family members of the deceased claims she had an affair with a Saudi expatriate boy. On Saturday night, she locked into an altercation with the boy over mobile phone around 11:30 pm. Then he went to his room and hanged herself. After a while, her family members broke opened the door after not getting any response from inside the room and spotted her hanging body.

Beauty’s younger brother Farooq said she used to work as a dancer in movies.
