Shyamoli garment factory fire doused

A fire that broke out at a garment factory in the city’s Shyamoli area in the early hours of Tuesday has been doused.
Being informed, five unit of Fire Service brought the fire under control in an hour effort, said Rozina Islam, Duty Officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Earlier, the fire started around 5.30am from an electrical short-circuits in the sewing section on the seventh floor of the unit belonging to Goldstar Garments Ltd.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported, she said.
The fire gutted equipment and materials worth Tk 20 lakh, said the fire service official, citing a preliminary probe.
