Renowned film actress Anwara Begum is severely ill following a brain hemorrhage.
The actress’ daughter Mukti said, “She can’t walk properly and does not recognize anyone as she had been seeing blurred vision for a few days over bleeding in the brain”.
However, she is being given therapy at home now, she added.
Mukti said that the actress suffered the brain stroke on the night of March 11 and was later admitted to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital in the capital. However, the actress was taken home two days ago as her physical condition improved.
Anwara was selected for Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution in the film. The National Film Awards 2020 will be organised at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) today. She was supposed to attend and receive the award but she would not be able to attend the program physically due to her illness.
The noted actress requested the countrymen to pray for her quick recovery from the disease, Mukti said.
