The Dhaka University (DU) authorities took final decision about not to hold any first-year honours admission tests for ‘Gha’ or D unit, under the social science faculty, from the 2022-2023 academic year.
The decision was made at a meeting of the university syndicate, its highest decision making body, on Sunday night.
Pro-vice-chancellor (academic) of the university Professor ASM Maksud Kamal said that as per the decision of the Academic Council and Syndicate, the admission test of Dhaka University will be held in four units (Science Unit, Business Education Unit, Fine Arts Unit and Arts, Law and Social Science Unit) instead of five units “Ka, Kha, Ga, Gha and Cha” in 2022-23 academic year.
However, the admission test will be held as per the previous rule in this academic year (2021-22 academic year).
DU vice-chancellor Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the meeting.
