North South University Social Services Club (NSUSSC) closed the curtain of blood donation camp purported to boost awareness among students about the lifesaving issue.
The Blood Donation Drive 2022 was organised by the club after two years of hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event allowed all the students, faculties, and administrative members of NSU to donate their blood in order to potentially save someone else’s life.
The campaign was held from March 29 to 31 in both the boys’ and girls’ lounge situated at the plaza area of the campus.
This year, the blood collection was facilitated by the Quantum Foundation. A record 720 bags of blood were collected. The donors were granted donor cards which will qualify them for a bag blood each if and when required. They were also awarded certificates as recognition of their invaluable contribution.
The campaign was visited by the honorable NSU Vice-Chancellor Prof Atiqul Islam and Faculty Advisor Md Mofassel Hossain.
Hailing NSUSSC for the noble initiative, the VC and Faculty Advisor expressed optimism about continuation of the public and social welfare activities on the part of the club.
Meanwhile, President of NSUSSC Ahamed Tahmid Zaman expressed heartfelt gratitude to all students who donated their blood.
He expressed satisfaction with turnout of blood donors, saying such response will obviously encourage others.
