Murder attempt on Prof Zafar Iqbal: Foyzul gets life term, Sohag 4 years’ jail

A Sylhet Court has sentenced main Foyzul Hasan to life imprisonment and his friend Md Sohag Miah to four years of jail in the case filed over the attempted murder of Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology campus.
Sylhet Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal’s judge Muhammad Nurul Amin Biplob delivered the verdict on Tuesday.
The eminent educationist and writer was attacked and stabbed in the head by Foyzul Hasan during a programme at the university’s open stage on March 3, 2018.
