The body a television producer was found beside the lake in the capital’s Hatirjheel area on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Bari, 29, senior producer of private television channel DBC.

The body was found at Hatirjheel near Niketan residential area of Gulshan, said Gulshan police inspector (invetigation) Shahnur Rahman.

The blood-soaked body bore several marks of stabbing injuries, said the police officer.

Inspector Shahnur said that they were primarily treating the incident as murder.

Bari hailed from Sirajganj Sadar and he used to live in Mahakhali area in Dhaka.

Investigators suspected that Bari might have been killed somewhere else and the body was dumped beside the lake on Tuesday night.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for post mortem examinations.
