Saudi Arabia observes Eid-ul-Azha July 9, moon sighting panel in Bangladesh to meet today

Saudi Arabia is set to observe Eid-ul-Azha on July 9 while National Moon Sighting Committee of Bangladesh will hold a meeting today (Thursday) to fix date of the second largest religious festival for the Muslims.

Meanwhile, Malaysia, Indonesia and other neighbouring countries have decided to observe the Eid on July 10.

UNB adds: The meeting will be held in the office of the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram at 7.15pm with State Minister for Religious Affairs Mohammad Faridul Haque Khan in the chair.

 

The committee will announce the date of Eid-ul-Azha after reviewing information about the sighting of the Zilhaj moon.

People have been requested to inform the committee over the following phone and fax numbers if they see the Zilhaj moon anywhere in the Bangladeshi sky.
