Education Minister Dipu Moni has said decision has not yet been taken that when the SSC examinations of this year will begin.
She came up with this information at a press conference at Secretariat in the capital this noon.
Dipu Moni said, “Books of many students were damaged due to flood. New books will have to be sent to them. The extent of damage caused by flood is being estimated.”
Mentioning that people of Sylhet region did not see such a devastating flood of this year, she said, “It is very tough to survive under such a situation. It was impossible to go to shelters with books. Now, we are assessing the loss. We are enquiring continuously.”
She said, “ If needed, we will publish new books and send those to the students. Flood created trauma among the students. At least, it needs to give them two-week time. So, the schedule of the exam cannot be determined now.”
