Buying of salted rawhides starts Thursday

A total of 154 tanneries across the country will start buying salted rawhides from Thursday.
Shahin Ahmed, Chairman of Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) and also Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), confirmed the information on Wednesday.
Although there is possibility to collect one crore rawhides this year, 95 lakh will be collected due to wastage of five lakhs rawhides.
“More than 50 percent rawhides are collected normally during Eid-ul-Azha.”
However, tannery businessmen this year collected five lakh rawhides from July 10 to July 12,” he added.
