Body of former journalist recovered in city

Police recovered a hanging body of a former journalist named Sohana Parvin Tuli (38) from a residence at Hazaribagh in the capital on Wednesday.

The body was recovered from a residence no. 299/5 (1st floor), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Rayer Bazar.

Tuli hailed from Batala area in Jashore. She had been residing in Hazaribagh area since 2018.

 

Hazaribagh Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Moktaruzzaman confirmed the matter, says a media report.

Primarily, it is being assumed the incident as suicide. But, the cause of death will be cleared after autopsy, the OC said.

Tuli studied mass communication and journalism in the University of Dhaka.

She worked in the Amader Somoy, the daily Kaler Kantho. Lastly, she worked as a journalist in the Bangla Tribune till 2020.

Later, she worked in a private organisation. Of late, she became an woman entrepreneur after launching an online shop.

Sohana Tuli was the member of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) and also a member of Sub-Editors Council.
