Dhamrai: A person was leaving his urban workplace for village home surrendering to the high costs of rented house, essential items and education of children.

Taking all household articles in a motorcycle, he was going to parental destination at Ghior upazila under Manikganj Thursday morning.

Rafikul Islam Sujon was engaged in a low-paid job in Dhamrai and was living with family members there. Following hike in prices of several essential commodities, he along with his family members could not survive in the comparatively expensive rented house in Dhamrai.

Taking to this correspondent, Rafikul Islam Sujon said “I am going home failing to afford urban life amid price hike of essentials. It was not possible for me to pay house rent and cost of education of my children.”

He said he will do agricultural or other works at village home and meet expenditure of the family.

Asked about the reason for carrying everything in motorcycle, he said he could not afford rising fare of the mini-truck or pickup.
