A total of 31 accidents took place in the railway of the country. Of the accidents, investigation into 16 has already been completed while 15 are under investigation.
This information was revealed at the 22nd meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday (September 20).
As per the investigation, punitive action is under consideration against those responsible persons for accidents, the report mentioned.
Strict instructions were given to the employees of all departments regarding their responsibilities, including maintenance of rail tracks, in order to check accidents.
Meanwhile, report emphasised on the motivation and training of the employees.
