Girl found with stick during attack on VP Nur identified

The girl, who was found with stick in her hand during Sunday’s attack on vice president of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Nurul Haque Nur and his supporters, has been identified.

She was identified as Fatema Tuj Johora Ripa, hailing from Bashghar area of Ramganj municipality in Laxmipur, an honours student of Ramganj Model College.

Ripa is a student affairs secretary of Muktijoddha Mancha and Bangladesh Chhatra League’s (BCL) Ramganj upazila unit of Laxmipur.

Earlier, some photos of Ripa went viral on social media where she was seen roaming around DUCSU building during the attack on Nur and his followers by leaders and activists of Muktijoddha Mancha.

Later on Tuesday, police filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station against 30-35 leaders and activists of Muktijoddho Mancha, including central general secretary (GS) Al Mamun and its DU unit GS Yasir Arafat Turjo, for their alleged involvement in Sunday’s attack on DUCSU vice-president Nurul Haque Nur and his followers.

The six others accused are Muktijuddho Mancha central president Aminul Islam Bulbul its DU unit President ASM Sonet,  Imran Sarker, Yead Al Riyad, Mahbub Hasan Niloy and Touhidul Islam Mahim.

Later on Tuesday night, Nurul Haque Nur also filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station accusing 32 people including Ripa.

DUCSU VP Nur and 22 others were injured in the attack allegedly carried out by Muktijuddho Mancha and Chhatra League activists at DUCSU building on Sunday.
